Pixel Art
Pixel art is created using raster editing software at a pixel level. Similar in style to embroidered cross-stiching, pixel art uses carefully placed blocks of colour to create digital mosaics.
After consultation with the client the pixel art style was chosen to form the primary elements that, when assembled, would compose various configurable worlds.
Each world is divided into a 6 x 4 grid. Each grid square holds an interactive object which can be updated via an admin area. Because pixel art is aliased (hard-edged), elements can be overlaid onto a series of different backgrounds thereby allowing the creation of a library of reusable assets.
