Further Adventures In Gamification

A major Australian corporate approved of the gamification work completed mid-2014 and was keen to use a similar approach for their new retail training portal to be launched in 2015.

Utilising the same framework, a substantial number of functional upgrades had to be implemented, not least a massive new learning map to accommodate 90 days worth of training, integrated checkpoints as well as booking, calender and survey functionality to support synchronous learning activities.

The Learning Map (User Journey)
A visual interpretation of the users journey, the learning map contains buildings that represent the core disciplines, each building allows the user access to different learning activities.

Learning Activities (Building Interiors)
Each building within the Learning Map has a corresponding floor plan. Each room equates to an activity that the user must undertake and complete to advance along their learning path. Some rooms will have dependencies and will remain locked until they complete the requisite activities.

User Progress (Beach Buggy)
Assisting user’s in their journey the ‘Ollymobile’ helps navigate the various routes letting the user know their location, the route they’ve taken and, via judiciously located chop shops, their learning progress for the overall journey. Thirty two iterations of the vehicle were required to cover off all the various upgrades and orientations.
